The eighteenth KLAYRock : EXPERIMENTS collection - THE KEY EXPERIMENT, is the culmination of a 4 week social art experiment exploring inter-personal relationships, decision making and meaning of community.
Art has always been experiential in nature - be it admiring the beauty of a painting on a wall, or interacting with a digital media piece. These experiences allow us to engage with the artist’s intentions and involve ourselves within the narrative.
THE KEY EXPERIMENT takes this one step further by inviting the viewer to help shape the actual narrative; starting with a basic premise, each player decides how the story proceeds.
All who participated were given opportunities to explore their personal needs, inter-personal relationships, but all of it manifested publicly and forever recorded on the blockchain.

THE KEY EXPERIMENT is a series of 2 digital sculptures, both core elements in the unique storytelling social experiment.
Over 4 weeks, beginning with an initial drop to the first Key Master, each subsequent Key Master had to decide on what their next actions would be - to keep the key in anticipation of the week’s art drop or to paid it forward to another member of the community. Each of these decisions contributed to building a narrative that is now recorded forever on the blockchain.
The work itself consists of two 3D modeled digital sculptures, utilizing ceramic and metallic materials to convey a sense of value and beauty in order to perhaps influence the decision making process of the Key Master.
Key #01 visualizes a mysterious and enigmatic crystal structure breaking out of an organic marble encasing, whereas Key #02 shows the Key in its final form.
All four participants of THE KEY EXPERIMENT are now forever linked, having become players to a narrative they built.
