#9 RHYTHM & FLOW
EDITION 4/4
The ninth KLAYRock : EXPERIMENTS collection is an explorative creative exercise in creating organic structures via procedurally generated geometry, motion and colors.
Creative tools have come a long way since the integration of the computer into the artist’s workflow, allowing limitless freedom for expression and formation. One visual characteristic technology has allowed artists to leverage like never before is the organic shape; geometric lines that are seen in nature - previously difficult to replicate but can now be done with a few clicks.
Algorithmic procedural generation functionality, now a common part of most mainstream 3D creation platforms, creates organic structures utilizing mathematical formulae derived from nature - the way grooves are formed in leaves, the mirror perfect symmetry seen in flowers. These tools now allow us, not only to create these organic structures, but to combine them with abstract characteristics to create visual representations that were not previously possible.

RHYTHM & FLOW
4 OF 4
The RHYTHM & FLOW collection is an attempt to not only create and combine organic structure with abstract materials, but also aims to capture the dynamism of movement.
RHYTHM & FLOW #1 - BREATHE is a video and audio experience, utilizing procedurally generated organic geometry to create an abstract form in motion. The audio portion of the piece was composed using almost-organic like synthesizer chords to emphasize the ethereal nature of the visual. The viewer instinctually holds his breath as he anticipates an explosion of movement as the formation continues to build, but ultimately, he is asked to breathe - because the most important thing is to live life, regardless of your immediate situation.
RHYTHM & FLOW #2 - #4 are still pieces that combine mesmerizing, procedurally generated geometry with vivid colors, creating abstract visualizations that leave a lasting impression.
